COLDWATER — U.S. Rep. Warren Davidson comes from a manufacturing background.
Before he succeeded John Boehner in the 8th District, he was president of Global Source Molds, a company that produces tools for plastic injection molding.
On Friday, when he toured Totally Promotional — one of the fastest-growing businesses in Mercer County — the company’s management was anxious to hear what he had to say.
They weren’t disappointed.
“This is great to see,” said Davidson, as he watched nearby workers use high-tech machines to sew hundreds of colorful can coolers. “This is exciting.”
Davidson said he’s happy to hear that many businesses in the region like Totally Promotional are doing well.
“I hear everybody’s been hiring,” Davidson said.
Totally Promotional is an online retailer and manufacturer of custom-printed promotional products. It was founded in 1993 and is the country’s leading retailer and manufacturer of imprinted promotional products. Totally Promotional currently employs about 230 people in its office and production facilities.
Its product categories include custom-imprinted trade show and signage, bags, toys and novelty, outdoor and leisure, writing instruments, drinkware and can coolers, napkins and coasters, personal care items, and wedding favors and essentials.
Davidson visited the company’s newly renovated office and the adjacent production facility. The Republican Congressman and U.S. Army veteran was escorted by Mercer County Commissioner Greg Homan to several businesses and other organizations in the Coldwater area, including a dairy farm.
Davidson was elected in June 2016 to fill the remaining term of outgoing Representative John Boehner. In November, he was re-elected to his first full term as a U.S. Representative.
