The deal will feature Twins and Prince logo merchandise that will be sold year round, including baseball caps marked with Prince’s signature symbol, shirts and Prince branded baseballs. All the gear will be available exclusively at Twins’ Target Field, The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports. The team will also honor the music legend with its second annual “Prince Night.”
“Along with our fans, we look forward to celebrating the legacy of a man who brought an international spotlight to our great city,” team CEO Dave St. Peter told the Tribune.
“Prince Night” will take place on June 8 (the day after Prince’s birthday) and the first 10,000 fans through the gates will receive purple inflatable Prince guitars. Then, after the seventh inning stretch, those with the guitars will be asked to remain standing and illuminate them for a special remembrance.
Last year, during the first “Prince Night,” fans received umbrellas (some of which reportedly were later sold on ebay for $100).
