The retailer-owned up to the error and fans loved it

Online fashion retailer ASOS hilariously owned up to printing 17,000 plastic bags with a spelling mistake and customers are loving it.

The company, which has been voted as the most sought-after place to work in 2018 by LinkedIn, incorrectly printed a message on the bags used for online order shipments.

It was supposed to read, “ASOS discover fashion online” however the brand mistakenly wrote “onilne.Asos to start modelling the same clothes on different size models

Realising the blunder, ASOS owned up and tweeted a picture of the plastic bag on Twitter alongside the caption, “Ok, so we *may* have printed 17,000 bags with a typo.

“We’re calling it a limited edition.”

Since posting the image, it has received more than 28,000 likes and 4,500 retweets while fans of the retailer have flooded it with comments.

While some pointed out the error was difficult to spot writing: “That took me way longer than it should have,” others joined in by mocking the brand.

“I love shopping onilne,” one person joked.

Another added, “Watch eBay go mad with people selling them for thousands.”

Some shoppers even admitted that they were tempted to place an order just to get their hands on one.

“This makes me love you guys more and now I want one of those bags,” one person wrote.

 

 

Someone else said: “Oh, I hope when my order comes tomorrow I’m one of the lucky winners of these.”

Meanwhile, plenty of fans praised ASOS for choosing to keep the bags rather than wasting them.

“Better a limited edition than throwing it away!” one tweet read.

The brand replied, “We thought so too!” and informed customers that all of its plastic mailing bags and cardboard boxes are recyclable.
